The concept of the scheme originates from the Chinese movable characters printing technique; it is an invention that marks a great achievement within Chinese civilization.
Advances in technology led to the evolution of the printing technique forming the current, digital model in which data is written, formatted and stocked. A new language emanates from these digital processes, and the method of information exchange is universal across a global platform. Using the moving print characters as an abstraction to create a physical image of data in motion, the scheme manifests into an architecture that undergoes a process of change with blocks of data forming a landscape structure. The edge conditions between architectural elements flow seamlessly in a fluid manner to create one singular element, as the ground, facades and roofscape form a harmonious cluster of buildings.
The scheme operates along a linear process, wherein the design was guided by a system that creates the massing of the project, followed by the extraction of the form from this mass.
A double curvature surface serves as a guide to generate the massing, and the final form is shaped as the roofscape emerges through a bevel operation that cuts the massing.
